Technology ~ Photography–SOLOSHOT3 Update, 06/21

SOLOSHOT has been giving weekly updates for 3 weeks now

Still, the first pallet has not shipped from the manufacturer. The disappointing delays mount, with lots of dismayed customers, some angry, and some who have canceled their orders for a full refund. Many placed [paid for] their orders nearly 2 years ago. I ordered 01/22/2016. I continue to wait patiently. In spite of the delays, this is a REALLY cool motion time lapse video!

All end-of-line testing procedures and automation for mass quantities of hardware have been implemented.

Despite this, we have not yet shipped the first pallet due to debugging the initial set-up (aka First Boot Mode).

Despite this, we have not yet shipped the first pallet due to debugging the initial set-up (aka First Boot Mode). Specifically, we are making sure that what’s needed on the back-end for initial setup, which includes downloading the software suite and creating a SOLOSHOT account, is ready for mass amounts of users.

We wish this took only a week to get right, but it’s a continuous process that we are hoping will be done as soon as possible so we can get the hardware over to the fulfillment center at long last. We will be sure to announce when this happens!

One thing that did come together this past week is the Motion Time-Lapse App! Check out the compilation below. Images are straight out of the Optic65 Camera, with the following settings:

Photo intervals: 3-5 Sec
# of Frames: 300-900

I am cautiously hopeful…

SOLOSHOT’s Latest:

It’s been an exciting week over at the SOLOSHOT production line! We are thrilled to announce that final production has kicked-off for SOLOSHOT3 Bases and Optic65 Cameras. Tags are in queue to begin next week, as well as Optic25 Cameras. We are literally jumping for joy at this huge milestone in a long journey, and can’t wait to share the SOLOSHOT3 clips we’ve been stacking with you next week.

DIY [# 19] ~ Videography–Sound Truck [back from my 04/13 pause] ~ Sound Shark added, 05/04

While on a publishing pause, I did several things. Today’s focus, the Sound Shark Parabolic Microphone

Purchased from Sound Shark Audio.

Initial Impressions: I am ecstatic! The sound is crisp and clear. This parabolic microphone performs as described in the videos @ Of course, I will record sound 5 to 30 feet or so away. I expect to use it to capture audio for athletic events. The sound truck is nearly complete. To add: a robotic camera to follow the tag(s) with this microphone atop. It will be late summer or early fall before that happens. In the meantime, I’ll work with the truck as is…

Well, the wait is much shorter than it was…

44348269-1e6e-4242-b0b3-b3b92b217cb7Over the past month, the team has been putting the finishing touches on the manufacturing line and getting all the software ready for mass production! Significant End-of-Line test improvements have been implemented, and larger batches of SOLOSHOT3 + Optic65 Camera Bundles have been boxed up and shipped to the US for continued software validation across various activities.

aadb8d31-e497-43b7-b4e5-8a1b8348995cMass production kick-off is now set for the week of May 9th.  The only change to the schedule shared in last month’s update is shifting the start date of the window for releasing the very first large batch of units from our California warehouse from May 15th to May 25th.

My estimated shipping date remains mid-June. Only those who ordered between September 15, & October 15, 2015, have and additional delay–10 days from May 15 to May 25, 2017–a very long wait for them.

I’ve done all I can for now–documented with my DSLR.

Slipped the voice over mic to the right so it does not block the laptop screen, added a shelf to the top rack, and added a red LED flashlight. Next, [maybe June] will be a parabolic microphone.
