Fitness ~ Walk–Transportation to Photo Job [Completed, to include walk home.], 03/30

There & back. Yeah!!!

I walked 2.94 miles to get to the job and 2.92 miles to get home. I varied the route home a bit, but still a grid walk. The variance of 0.02 miles could be attributed to GPS inaccuracy. Anyway, the transport part of the job is finished. It was a really cool walk there. I wore thin gloves. I should have worn my mittens. It was chilly enough [around 41°] that I felt like I was walking on blocks of ice coming home. At time, it seemed I was a drunk man walking.

Multitasking–Fitness and Photography. Plus, I save a few coins…

I decided I will walk to Mt. Sinai and back. I’ll take the 3-mile route. Stay tuned…

Fitness ~ Bike Ride–Transportation for Photo Job, 03/29

Clear Wednesday & Sunday mornings. Rain possible Thursday, Friday, & Saturday.

Mt Sinai DVD2I biked to Mt. Sinai today [3.68 mi.] for my 4th site survey and biked home [3.08 mi.]. I also looked at the church grounds Easter Sunday evening.

In terms of blossoms and the weather forecast, I need to shoot tomorrow morning. That means sunrise be there before the rising sun.

I expect this will be a two-part shoot. There is not sufficient foliage of the trees for a meaningful spring presentation.

Integrating fitness [in the absence of personal transportation] and photography…

2016-03-17_22-07-39 mt. SinaiOpportunity knocks!

I am to take seasonal pictures of my home church–Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, Murchison Road, Fayetteville, North Carolina.

I took pictures in December. Now, we want pictures with green. I want the dogwood trees in bloom and leaves on the other trees. Flowers, if any, with blossoms as well.

IMG_5250.CR2This will be a sunrise shoot, capturing the church, enhanced by the greenery. The pastor and staff are thrilled with the pictures from the December shoot. I want to better those.

Anyway, without a vehicle, I needed to get there. For the distance and purpose, I chose to ride. I’ll likely make a few more to see when I plan to shoot. I think in 2-3 weeks.

This was a special trip on my single speed bike [Faye] to survey an upcoming photo shoot. This route was about traffic avoidance. It worked well getting there and less well riding home.

Yes, there are hills. I rode them on a single speed bike.

Fortunately, I’m able to keep leg strength and meet the challenge slight elevation gives. The route home has more hills–met those with a vengeance.

Regrettably, my phone locked up and I missed capturing the entire ride. Oh well…
