Cycles – A dream deferred–Cruzbike Vendetta, 10/15

I did not deliver on my April 2012 dream. Now, there is a NEW Cruzbike Vendetta–the Vendetta V20.

First, it was the Silvio and then the Vendetta. I loved it from the moment I saw it as Maria Parker rode her record breaking ride. I will invest the proceeds from the sale of Silk and tail fairing into my dream bike. If I do this as I want, it will be with the carbon fiber wheel.

I’ve seen 2 generations of V’s pass me by… A dream deferred…

A Trip Worthwhile ~ Psychling & Cruzbike

Psychling is the ‘BentRider Online Username of  Dan Fallon from Chicago. Dan just reported back on his 2,ooo mile round-trip journey to Lumberton, North Carolina to test ride Cruzbikes. October 28, 2010, Dan said:

I’ll be spending the weekend of Nov 5th driving to the HQ of Cruzbike in Lumberton, NC, and back (Chicago) to road test the Cruzbike Vendetta (and other Cruzbike models) with Jim and Maria Parker. As this will be a 2,000 mile whirlwind 2.5 days any sane person should ask: “What so special about this bike to cause you to do this?”

The bottom line:

Dr. Jim Parker, Cruzbike Co Founder and CEO, captured some of Psychling’s Cruzbike experiences on video and says:

Dan arrived Friday evening and overcame his beginner wobbles very quickly. He took his first ride on an old beat-up Cruzbike Sofrider, and then (after dark and not videotaped) he rode the Quest 559. The next morning we (Maria, Jim, and Dan) rode about 27 miles on the Silvio (pretty fast, and clipped in). And then tooled around the neighborhood on the Vendetta.

 Dan says:

I’ll be brief: I placed an order for the Cruzbike Vendetta yesterday. And I’m hoping to do the same for the Cruzbike Sofrider soon.

Okay, you have John Tolhurst mods for a faster Vendetta [Cruzbike Vendetta ~ Its future, by John Tolhurst, 10/09 & Cruzbike Vendetta ~ More on Its future from John Tolhurst, 10/10]; but, did you catch his production plan:

Now you have my design agenda for the Vendetta, as we go from the last rolling prototype into the first production run. I’ll be limiting production numbers at first in case there are any items that we have to rework.

So, will your Vendetta be in the first production run??? I want one…

In the BROL comment I quoted yesterday, John stated:

The aim was to make a bike respecting those criteria that was 10% faster than Silvio. It turns out 7% faster than Silvio, which means it is about 24% more energy efficient. The prototype Maria was riding did leave a little on the table, that is, there are one or two things I’ll be doing to make the production version faster. Maybe another 1% faster, or something like that.

I highlighted the tease. I’ll tell you that John is surprised he was not asked how he intends to do that. Well, I asked him via email and here is what he says.

How get another 1% increase in speed from the Vendatta
