  1. I like the look, although the dimmer is not controlling the brightness of the led bulbs as I expected.

    I had the make extreme modifications to the circuit boards to get them to fit in the valves. I do not think I erred in my rewiring. I will confirm with an incandescent bulb.

    I also had to gut the valves so that I could put the circuit boards in. Rewiring and fitting took most of the day X 2. Then there is the problem of twisted wires as added pipes. I used tees below the valves and connected wires after the switch and socket were in place.

    In the future, should I make another steampunk lamp, I will not likely use a dimmer switch.

    Anyway, the bulbs are not nearly as bright as they have been and that is good.

    I think they look better than they photograph.
