The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for all but the southern Sandhills through lunch time on Monday. Travel conditions, especially in the northern Sandhills could be dicey until temperatures warm enough to turn all precipitation over to rain.
For Fayetteville, a light mixture of snow and sleet will begin by 2 a.m. and linger until after sunrise. Precipitation won’t be constant, and totals will be minor. However, roads and walkways will likely glaze, since temperatures for the past few days have stalled near freezing, and any travel should be delayed until afternoon if at all possible.
Freezing conditions will warm by early afternoon, leaving the region washed by moderate to heavy rain showers into Tuesday.
Although light for my area, I hope not enough to cause damage. Stay tuned…
