The last several days I’ve been working on subtle mods to my Vigilance Theme in this WordPress Blog. First, off to WordPress.org [neat, cool, and flexible], but lacked some heading, stats, and widget functionality that I have here at WordPress.com]. As stated earlier, I’ve started using css [Cascading Style Sheets] to make subtle mods [more to do with spacing than anything] to this great theme. I’m glad I have the Internet to aid me with the code for the changes I want to make. Also, thanks to Drew Strojny, the author of the Vigilance Theme and his forum for his help as I presented him questions I could not find the answer to.
I want the post time-stamp I once had. Drew tells me that the time-stamp’s presence cannot be controlled with css. The other issue is changing the current list bullets [stars] to something else. Drew give me the code. It removed the stars, but did not give me a bullet. He’s is doing additional research to give me a solution. Update 03/14: Drew has resolved. I now have little black squares for bullets.
If you are interested in what I have done, leave me a comment. I’m happy to share what I’ve learned as well as the code I’m using for the mods I have made. I recommend maintaining a backup text file of your css mods.
You’ve probably noticed my sidebar picture. At some point, I hope it is to be a sideshow–works in a post or page, but not in the sidebar. For now, I’m manually changing the pictures. I hope you find the overall blog interesting and informative. Your comments and feedback are appreciated. I enjoy writing, photography, and cycling. This forum gives me the opportunity to be expressive in each. Again, I’ll do my best to keep your attention. Thanks for your many visits!
