Did you catch that?

The discerning looker noted the one magnet is feeding two sensors–The Garmin Edge 305 and The CatEye. But, how can that be? The Edge 305 cannot monitor speed and cadence because the speed sensor is an integral part of the Garmin sending unit. Well… So many have said “IT CANNOT BE DONE. I accepted the challenge and simply relocated the speed arm by extending the wire that connects it to the Garmin base. Given that, one magnet services both sensors.

  1. Hi Don,

I did not wire the wireless. The base still communicates wirelessly with the Garmin Edge 305. I extended the wire from the base to the speed sensor. Others have said the speed sensor cannot be used on a recumbent. Not true!
