AR.Drone ~ Lighting is all the rage ~ This from MrSymondavis Reply

MrSymondavis is known as Symon [owner of AR.Drone-Flyers.com] to many of us. He has an ideas on Parrot AR.Drone lighting and presents them in this video. Nice job Symon.

Lighting additions [mods] seem to be one of the more popular changes to the AR.Drone. Adding an external camera is also frequently seen.

Of course, Fred and I have our idea also. We will have another video up soon, thanks to Paul Evans. That will be followed by our prototypes. Remember, we want to know your interest in our idea of “Heli” lighting for the drone.

The best to the modelers. The drone is nifty for making it your own.

A Trip Worthwhile ~ Psychling & Cruzbike Reply

Psychling is the ‘BentRider Online Username of  Dan Fallon from Chicago. Dan just reported back on his 2,ooo mile round-trip journey to Lumberton, North Carolina to test ride Cruzbikes. October 28, 2010, Dan said:

I’ll be spending the weekend of Nov 5th driving to the HQ of Cruzbike in Lumberton, NC, and back (Chicago) to road test the Cruzbike Vendetta (and other Cruzbike models) with Jim and Maria Parker. As this will be a 2,000 mile whirlwind 2.5 days any sane person should ask: “What so special about this bike to cause you to do this?”

The bottom line:
 
Dr. Jim Parker, Cruzbike Co Founder and CEO, captured some of Psychling’s Cruzbike experiences on video and says:
Dan arrived Friday evening and overcame his beginner wobbles very quickly. He took his first ride on an old beat-up Cruzbike Sofrider, and then (after dark and not videotaped) he rode the Quest 559. The next morning we (Maria, Jim, and Dan) rode about 27 miles on the Silvio (pretty fast, and clipped in). And then tooled around the neighborhood on the Vendetta.

 

 Dan says:

I’ll be brief: I placed an order for the Cruzbike Vendetta yesterday. And I’m hoping to do the same for the Cruzbike Sofrider soon.

T.C. JohnstoneWheels of Mercy is a short film I shot in Rwanda in 2005 with Tom Ritchey of Ritchey Cycles. He was interested in Africa and I was interested in going back. This film was a catalyst to a larger program called ‘Project Rwanda.” projectrwanda.org.

Currently we are in completing a feature film about the first ever Rwandan Cycling Team and their attempt to go to the Olympics.

Over the last eleven years the country of Rwanda has been a victim to negative media coverage around the world. The media has portrayed this small country as a hopeless place that struggles daily due to their past genocide. Although Rwanda is a country that is haunted by their past, the people of Rwanda have accepted forgiveness and strive to move on.In this feature documentary production we will follow the lives of five Rwandan cyclists as they form the first ever, national Rwandan cycling team.

This trailer is excellent. I see lots of bad trailers but this does exactly what Phil and I are always saying a trailer needs to do. MAKE ME WANT TO SEE THE FILM. And boy I really want to see this film. Well done and thanks T.C.
