I‘ve decided to get the headlight & taillight. The best pricing I found is at Peter White Cycles. I purchased from him last in 2006–a SON Hub & 2 wheels for the RANS Stratus XP. More of the essentials [see yesterday's order] are out of the way. I will use my LightSpin Wheel Dynamo. The lights below are LED and are relatively classic, with a modern touch. So, the lighting task is complete. Now, only mirrors remain for consideration.

I’ve spent the majority of the day preparing the bike for the dynamo powered lighting system. I have something special to share. I have to go out now and have a 7:00 p.m. meeting. I’ll try to describe it later tonight, with pictures tomorrow. I think it is unique.

Trailer planning continues… 1

You may have noted [as Josh did in Cmt. #3] the Voyager fender below is silver. To fit Silk’s motif, I’d need a black fender like the one I have [a Planet Bike Hardcore Recumbent Rear Fender].I probably replace the standard mudflaps with Cascadia ATB Mudflaps for all fenders [as suggested by Mike in Cmt. #1]. Then, I’ll use heat-shrink tubing to make the fender struts black [thanks Dana, Bent Up Cycles, said doing so will make Silk more stealthy] as I did with the Silk’s fender struts. I like the Extrawheel Classic flag position [centered on the nylon wheel cover]. Well, I’ve fashioned a bracket that will allow me to place my flag centered in the fender and accommodate a single DiNotte 200L Taillight. I’ll post pictures later–paint’s currently drying.

Remember, Silk also has a touring mode… 8

today2I have been asked how much does Silk weigh with “all that stuff”? I weighed her on setup and will do so again next week [touring and lite mode]. I expect the weight to be within 5 pounds of the light mode setup weight of 51.5 lbs. On the Niagara Rally, I hosted her [touring mode] above my head. I’m up to her weight, whatever it may be.
