Mr. Giraldo [Rafael] and Mr. Artis [James] set out June 14, 2010, from Bar Harbor, Maine for Key West, Florida on their 2010 Ride for the Republic—a cycling journey, with a historical perspective. The idea is to visit many historic places in New England, the former middle colonies, and the south—from Boston to Philadelphia, to Jamestown, to colonial Williamsburg, to Yorktown, to Kitty Hawk, to Fort Sumter, to Saint Augustine, to Cape Canaveral, all the way to Key West. There is so much to see and so much to learn from the time of the founding of our nation. Rafael invites you to join him and ride along during this tour [signup link in the center below]. You have noted that Mr. Girialdo rides alone. Purchase a chance to win a trike by sponsoring a Green Mile. See your name on the Green Miles Sponsors’ Page. Links: |
On Rafael’s video, there was a glimpse of a route map, looking similar to Adventure Cycling’s “Atlantic Coast Route”. Have you determined your route yet?
You are correct and yes we have the route. It is Adventure Cycling Atlantic Coast Route, with the North Carolina Outer Banks. I mention it here. –jim
Hey Jim,
I’m checking in with you here ;’-) I’m a bit envious of this tour you are about to take, and want to know if there is a way I can get notice of your entries and reports about this adventure. Or — I will just have to remember to check in here to follow along with you.
you are going to have such a great time!!
Nancy
Hi Nancy (Splash),
Thanks for coming over. Yes, you can subscribe using the RSS feed or subscribe to email notifications. The options are just above the Recent Comment section in the Right-Sidebar of my home page. Once we start, there will be daily postings here and on BROL. The will be periodic live & recorded video and lots of pictures. If you miss the live vid, you wan catch the tape. I’ve tested most of this and it is working. I just have to ensure my legs are up to the weight.
I really look forward to this tour. Especially to test the setup & make adjustments for next year when we are to do it again some place else in the country.
Thanks for coming & commenting.
Jim
Best of luck to you both! I’m looking forward to reading your updates!
