Same place as last year—Cain’s Grill marks the start point of a 19.994164-mile lap. Do 5 of those and then a bit and you have your century. For Maria, it is familiar territory. Michael, on the other hand is more familiar with the mountains of Hawaii and the feel of a road bike between his legs. I’ll tell you soon how many times he has ridden the route he will take for his century on Saturday, 10/02.
…and Mike Zagorski may ride once he sees it and gives it a whirl. I hope to know soon. Stay tuned…
As I did last year, I’ll record Maria’s time for this attempt on a spreadsheet. I’ll do the same for Mike Zagorski. I think the event will be amazingly FAST. Last year, 12 laps and a bit—this year 5 laps and a bit. This is last year’s data. She will be faster. I encourage all who can to come to White Oak, NC and see it live. I’ll use a blog “sticky” to keep the spreadsheet at the top of the page. I’ll add photos as I can.
