Last Wednesday, 09/01, Apple CEO, Steve Jobs announced the iOS 4.1 software update will be available next week. The release day I have found through my Internet searches is Wednesday, 09/08. Apple says the iOS 4.1 Software Update is the first major update to iOS 4, bringing Game Center, new iTunes features, high dynamic range [HDR] photography, and more to iPhone. I’m most interested in the HDR photography feature.
So much so, that I purchased [for $2] what seem to be the most popular HDR App at the App Store [Pro HDR] to take a few experimental photos. I like what I see.
The Apple HDR in 4.1 will take 3 photos and then blend those. The Pro HDR currently blends 2 photos, with impressive results. My anticipation is a subsequent release will use 4.1 features for even better pictures. In addition to experimenting with this app, Pro HDR has other features that are useful. I look forward to sharing photos using this technology from my iPhone 4.
I’ll go out this evening a good vista to take pictures to better illustrate HDR.
I just returned for my photo shoot. I’m off loading now will review and then upload to flickr. There is lots of promise here. Now, I get to compare HDR Pro with the HDR feature of iSO4 and then ultimately whatever HDR Pro is for iSO 4.1 I really enjoyed taking pictures tonight. This makes me want to get sunrise shots in Fayetteville.
