KLIMAX- the new Hase project 5

Hase Bikes has announced a new e-trike with a foldable fairing. The fairing is fabric. I’m planning to use fabric for most of Fargo’s exterior where we had Lexan before. I think Hase’s use of fabric here is pretty cool. They say:

klimax Environmental protection and CO2-free mobility should be fun in any weather. At least that’s what the people at Hase Spezialräder believe. On the occasion of Eurobike 2010 (September 4th open for the public), Hase will be launching “Project KLIMAX” with the introduction of its new trike model, the KLIMAX 2K.

For anyone not sure, this cycle is a delta recumbent. The underlying trike is a Hase Kettwiesel—I think the Tour, yet it could also be the Kettwiesel Allround. Watch their video.

New Gadget ~ The Garmin Edge 800 Reply

Today, I learned of a new cyclocomputer from Garmin, the Edge 800. Its claim to fame is that it is smaller and uses a touchscreen. Garmin says:

Garmin 800 We took the best of Garmin Edge technology, added a touchscreen color display and made route planning easier than ever before with a one-stop shopping for creating, previewing and downloading routes to ride. New mapping options such as Garmin’s BaseCamp route planning and BirdsEye™ Satellite Imagery make it perfect for training, touring and riding on the trail…

Building on its popular GPS-enabled predecessors, Edge 800 is smaller and sleeker than the Edge 705, yet features a larger 2.6” display with a simple touchscreen interface. And while Edge 800 gets its streamlined design from the ultralight Edge 500, the color display and versatile mapping options make exploration more enjoyable and efficient than ever…

I started a BROL Thread so that its readers are aware of the product offering. This Edge is priced at $500. That’s a lot considering the functionality of Smartphones and their cycling apps. Just wanted you to know about the new product offering. DC Rainmaker has videos of the Edge 800 on YouTube. I’ve also posted DC Rainmaker’s Q&As.
