A BROL associate [rhein228 – Josef] has be asking why I did not tour with a velomobile versus the specialized quad called Fargo. I did not consider a velo because I have not read much about them being used for touring in the UDSA. In addition, I want the roominess of the quad as built by Utah Trikes. Certainly, the quad is not capable of the speeds of the Quest, yet I wonder about it suitability for the very rough roads I rode in the northeast. Anyway, I find Josef’s Journal intriguing. If you have not considered a velo for touring, read ,more. You may want to investigate further. Thanks Josef.
As to the speed potential of velomobiles, here’s a short vid from the prologue of this year’s Tour de France. See 0:24 and following:

Thanks Josef, I saw the video before it became unavailable. The Alleweder maintained it speed very well. Good for velos. –jim

Thanks Josef, I have read much of it. Rob makes a nice comparison: Glyde to Quest.
