  Lexan (6 mil)
27.25
A. Skin, edging, graphics, & bungees 26.00
1. Bottom Panel 6.84
2. Front Side Panels 6.10
3. Rear Side Panels 3.76
4. Top Panel 7.50
5. Top Rear Piece 1.80
B. Mounting Hardware 1.25

To know the potential weight savings and manage the replacement material, Ashley asked me to weigh the side panels and the top and floor. Again, I want to use fabric for the sides and the floor. That leaves Lexan for the top from the light bar down to the ground. There is a lot that can be saved here.

Fargo ~ slimming down Reply

It began here...While Ashley trims where he can, I’m doing the same for the base trike. This will help Ashley:

Schwalbe Kojaks were always a part of the plan. I’ll order these after mid-month and save about .5 pounds. Tires, plus the 1.5 lbs below equals about 2 pounds off the 107.5 pound quad. Now Ashley needs 25.5 more pounds. Maybe, we come in under 80 lbs.

Action Savings [in pounds]
1. Removed fenders 1.12
2. Switched pedals [now eggbeater—.59 versus .74] .15
3. Used my old CT700 mesh seat [1.87 versus 2.20] .13

Fargo gets weighed, 07/01 6

Today, I also weighed the beast by weighing the respective parts and components. The weight is very close to the weight as IO took Fargo out of the crate. Ashley thinks we can get down to a weigh of 80 lbs. I see it as an intriguing challenge. I exchanged pedals today, saving .15 pounds. This is a case where every ounce will help us get there. I’m open to ideas. Please comment…
