I am grateful for the Catrike Expedition Rolling Chassis and Chrome Black Paint donated to the quadricycle project that I began December 2009. I am fortunate! I am lucky! I am blessed! Each of these terms can be used to describe my good fortune as I explore a different quadricycle cycle design—a design that I think is suitable for commuting and touring.
I learned of Big Cat’s gracious donation April 27, 2010, and made my feelings of gratitude public [BROL, Catrike, Blog, and below]. I did not specify in that article that Big Cat Human Powered Vehicles, LLC had just made such a significant donation.
Certainly, this donation goes a long way toward helping me meet the cost of this quad. I am forever grateful for the gift and will continue in the best way I can to promote cycling and let the public know how I feel about the cycles I ride. My Catrike 700 [Silk]; my former RANS Stratus XP & Velokraft VK2; and my RANS Citi Crank Forward [Faye] have certainly made their mark in the cycling world and, as a result, have piqued the interest of many. I expect Fargo to do more.
History shows Big Cat HPV, LLC is supportive of several causes: for example, their support of wounded warriors and veterans. Although not asked for and not expected, their decision to support me on the 2010 Tour of Discovery—Ride for the Republic, should be of no surprise. Thank you again and again. To my cycling friends, please give props to Big Cat for the example they set.

If you are not sure, the gift/donation is the trike, minus the wheels, gearing, and brakes [a rolling chassis], plus the beautiful Chrome Black Paint Job. I am humble and extremely thankful. –jim
Good morning,
This is a wonderful donation! I hope that other companies see the great benefit in your participation in the Tour of Discovery – Ride for the Republic and follow suit. You’ve made such great use of the Stanley Tools Fat Max boxes, they should be featuring you on their website!
Congrats again!
Zeke
Good Morning Zeke,
I agree. It would be nice if others provided similar support. Regarding Stanley Tool Company, we did our part:
You [02/08]:
Me [03/09]:
Well neither of us received a response. It would be nice. There product was even a part of my Waynesville Rotary Club Presentation. Maybe a connected reader will see this comment.
Thanks!
Jim
This is such an incredible thing for someone to do for you and your ride. Not only are you truly a blessed man, but an incredibly creative one at that. Who would’ve thought you could do that to a tool box? However, it is ashame that Stanely can’t take a moment to respond to you or Zeke. Hopefully they will when they see how great their product looks looks on a trailer behind a bike.
Hi Michele,
You are incredibly kind. I do not expect they will ever see it. I am prepared to give recognition where companies want to sponsor. Maybe after there are pictures of the “real” Fargo, we can make more happen. Thanks for your comment. –jim
