Fargo Complete ~ Pre-Glamour Shots Reply

Well, most of the Utah Trikes work is over for this Special Project, except for shipping, which happens tomorrow, 06/01. I’ve expressed my gratitude for the design, the build, the long hours and all the hard work Ashley and the folk at Utah Trikes have put in on this project. Some how, my words seem to not reach the level I think the completion of their work deserves. I know Ashley will like to hear from you all. Please drop him a line, give him a call, consider a quad for yourself. If it happens to be an Expedition, that is good too. Stay tuned for my setup and then my touring and reporting on this first-time ride of a Catrike Quadricyle. I think it is going to be interesting. Again, THANKS to Ashley Guy and the crew at Utah Trikes. –jim
P.S. The real glamour shots tomorrow from the Payson City Plaza. There’s trimming, etc. to finish before shipping.

First posted January 7, 2010. Now, the build is complete [or nearly so]. Ashley has touch-up.

The first 6 renderings are from Captain Creeg—a BROL Member. The next 3 are Solid Works renderings from Ashley Guy, Utah Trikes [also a BROL Member]. Those renderings are of a TerraTrike Path based quadricycle. The next 2 images are the quad cage build. The base trike is a Catrike Expedition. After the cage build pictures are pictures of the final Fargo assembly. The last image on row 3 is the way Fargo looks just before shipping. I will add one more image after I receive Fargo and have done my setup and had the graphics installed. That will complete the metamorphosis of Fargo. Thanks for your interest. –jim

The Fargo autograph durability test ~ Result 2

Sixty-six days ago, I started this test. The marking survived, although I can see some fading of the broader tip markings. The fine point writing seems to not have been affected as much. I would have expected the opposite. Fine point autographs placed on Fargo should survive the trek to Florida and beyond. Therefore, it is the fine point markers I will use.

Autographed Lexan FairingI’ll leave this fairing in the yard for 60-days to see what effect the sun and rain have on ink from Sharpie Industrial Permanent Markers. I’ll also add fine point autographs as soon as I receive the markers [ordered 03/24].

The purpose of the test is to ensure my keepsake idea of autographs on Fargo’s rear quarter panels works [that is, last from Maine to Florida].

Here are two pictures of my fairing taken this morning:
