The Fargo Graphic ~ by Styner [the story] 2

LOGO-3 I wanted to present a complete, finished logo; but, I want to use it in my Waynesville Rotary Club presentation on Friday. So, here it is. You see it first. The little quad on the right will change from the TerraTrike Path based quad to a Catrike Expedition based quad. It will also be a silhouette like the stagecoach on the left. So, what you see later as a graphic on Fargo will be slightly different than the image you see here.

This was a first sell. I gave Andie my concept via e-mail. We talked on the telephone once. She thought about it, did some sketches and sent me her concept. I loved it as soon as I saw it. I offered one change, which she accepted and she offered one change and a slightly different font [Rosewood], which I accepted. The Rosewood Font has a better appeal by my eyes [and Andie's, of course]. We both like what we have achieved. THANKS Andie!!!

I introduced you to the company [Image Graphics, Fayetteville, North Carolina] that will install the Fargo Graphic. It will remain gray-scale and will go on reflective vinyl. That graphic [probably about 3' wide or so] will go on the left & right rear-quarter panels of the quad. I plan to have some pinstripes placed on the panels [like stagecoaches were pinstriped]. I’m looking to make the best visual presentation I can.

Andie, has been quite a spirit. I love her work. In addition she prepared a special graphic with a black background for a PowerPoint presentation [you'll see it later]. What a team player she is. For your serious graphic work, check ROOBIblue Studios and Andie Styner.

Now, what are your comments & questions?

Thanks!

Jim

  1. Andie is one very talented lady. These graphics are great! However, I still think you need to put some pinstripes and the graphic FARGO somewhere on the bike. I loved what you did with the VK2 to make it your own with all the stars and stripes. Why not the same thing with Fargo? Maybe not to that extreme but something to make it recognizable when you don’t have the 3′ sign on it. Can’t wait to see it all done, hooked up and ready to go.

    • Hi Michele,

Very talented, she is. I really adore her color work and photography. My gray-scale logo is just what I dreamed of for this quad. She batted 1000 on this. I have pin stripping planned as linked to in this article.

The frame and Lexan panels are an integral part of the cycle. The Fargo-Graphic is not a sign. It will be die-cut and goes on the left & right rear-quarter panels as reflective vinyl. I do not have plans to ride this quad without any of the panels in place. Later, I’ll have a special head badge made similar to what I did for my VK2. I also have to work within my budget.

BTW, I designed my VK2 from my club cycling attire [as seen in my profile photo to the right]. I’m not looking to do the same with Fargo. I think in the end, you will like what I will have done. It is so unique that it will be recognized by most, as is my CT700 [Silk] and Faye for that matter.

There are goodies yet to be seen.

      Thanks!

      Jim
