The weather looks like it will cooperate throughout most of the weekend with our planned 3 days of riding to help guest Jim Artis (www.cyclingexperiences.com) sharpen his legs for his upcoming Tour of Discovery – Ride for the Republic. I’ve previously written to you and invited you to join Jim and I on any or all of the rides. The planned ride schedule is as follows:

Waynesville PPT ~ The Fargo Slides Reply
You have seen all but 3 of the 11 slides I will use in my presentation to the Waynesville Rotary Club on tomorrow. Here are slides 6, 7, & 8. I was hoping for images of the Catrike based quad—not this time. It will happen though. Thanks to all who helped in this effort. –jim

Other parts of the presentation:
Fargo Graphic ~ a different look 5
The Fargo Graphic ~ by Styner [the story] 2
I wanted to present a complete, finished logo; but, I want to use it in my Waynesville Rotary Club presentation on Friday. So, here it is. You see it first. The little quad on the right will change from the TerraTrike Path based quad to a Catrike Expedition based quad. It will also be a silhouette like the stagecoach on the left. So, what you see later as a graphic on Fargo will be slightly different than the image you see here.
This was a first sell. I gave Andie my concept via e-mail. We talked on the telephone once. She thought about it, did some sketches and sent me her concept. I loved it as soon as I saw it. I offered one change, which she accepted and she offered one change and a slightly different font [Rosewood], which I accepted. The Rosewood Font has a better appeal by my eyes [and Andie's, of course]. We both like what we have achieved. THANKS Andie!!!
I introduced you to the company [Image Graphics, Fayetteville, North Carolina] that will install the Fargo Graphic. It will remain gray-scale and will go on reflective vinyl. That graphic [probably about 3' wide or so] will go on the left & right rear-quarter panels of the quad. I plan to have some pinstripes placed on the panels [like stagecoaches were pinstriped]. I’m looking to make the best visual presentation I can.
Andie, has been quite a spirit. I love her work. In addition she prepared a special graphic with a black background for a PowerPoint presentation [you'll see it later]. What a team player she is. For your serious graphic work, check ROOBIblue Studios and Andie Styner.
Now, what are your comments & questions?
Thanks!
Jim
Presenting Andie Styner’s Fargo Graphic 8
Remember ~ You selected the Fargo Font 4
Forty-four percent of the votes casted were for the Coffee Tin Font. Well, it is almost time for the unveiling of Andie Styner’s [owner, ROOBIblue Studios] creation for Fargo. Save the final CAD drawing, I plan to have it up just after midnight EDT. I’m hoping you like it and will give Andie your CHEERS!
…and the number is: CTE1300 Reply
Well, we have established the base trike for this quadricycle conversion is a Catrike Expedition and its serial number ends with 1300 [aka the 13 Original USA Colonies—again how cool is that]. Now we get the prefix. Combined we have Catrike CTE1300.
Soon, I’ll give you the Fargo Graphic and then we will wait for Ashley’s photographs. How exciting is that? Please stay tuned…
Fargo [my quad] is a Catrike Expedition 4
My quadricycle that Utah Trikes is designing just got INTERESTING! I’m sorry. I mean MORE INTERESTING! Look at these drawings! Expedition owners, are you watching???

Of course, you recognize the tadpole that now has a forth wheel and my cage? THAT’S A CATRIKE EXPEDITION! How fitting to ride an American made cycle on a tour with an American historical perspective. A quad built on a trike from the same company that manufactured CT7225 [aka Silk] and has now given us our first American made lowracer [the Musashi]. Thanks to Ashley Guy, Utah Trikes, and to Big Cat Human Powered Vehicles, LLC!
Now, if only I were a “fly on the wall” and knew how this truly happened. I think I know a bit, but not all. I’ll say that is not important, except there are members of the cycling community who care. What’s NOTABLE, is that the design was ported from the initial quad to this quadricycle. That gives buyers lots of choices [component options, price-point, type seating, manufacturer, etc.], without lengthy & costly design from scratch. I think that is remarkable. I commend Ashley, Utah Trikes, and SolidWorks for this. Thanks to Big Cat HPV, LLC and TerraCycle for their part.
Now to the excitement of seeing the build [Ashley will take some pictures] and setting up my American Made Catrike Expedition Quadricycle for the ride of my lifetime. What a tour this is going to be! Mr. Giraldo, are you there?
Jim
