Thanks to BROL that identified a potential buyer to me and to Michele for taking custody of a wonderful bike. We had many happy miles together and many pictures to show for it.
My flickr pictures will remain, as will my BLOG posts relating to my purchase and various setups of this amazing cycle.
I have a front wheel to be built because I will use my SON Hub on my quadricycle. Woodie, the lead mechanic at my LBS will build that wheel and pack & ship the bike to Michele. I hope it will be on its way next week. It goes to my LBS Thursday.
She will leave me stripped for the most-part. The Ergon MP1 [now GP1] grips, 2 mirrors, and the kickstand go with the bike.
Here is a more stripped picture. I will post another [separate article] just before packing. This is kind of sad. Hurry Fargo…

Wow, I can’t believe it is gone, though of course it now has a new home and an owner will will love your former Stratus XP. I wish her new owner the best of luck and many happy trouble-free miles. I plan on stripping my Corsa and selling it but I haven’t gotten around to it. But hopefully soon (a few months) I will be able to post about my new Velomobile arrival.
Good luck and may you only experience tailwinds,
Duncan
Thanks Duncan,
I guess it was time. Surprisingly, it only took 2 days for WTB, to purchase. Fortunately, there is lots of Internet documentation on the bike. I’m certain the SXP will be well cared for. The best with the sale of your Corsa. I have 2 more that I want to sell now.
I’ll be looking for your Velomobile posts. Those are really nice. I presume it will be your principal commuting cycle.
Enjoy…
Jim
Duncan and Jim, you both need not worry. The SXP is truly wanted and has a new owner waiting with great anticapation over her arrival. Once she gets here she will join her sister ‘bent the Green Goddess (Tailwind). I dont have the experience you guys do, but am sure with a few miles under my belt, you will find me worthy of such a great sport/hobby. SXP will give me the speed I’ve been searching for, which is a struggle to hold onto with the GG. And I love the speed. Something that has given my hubby a few grey hairs, I assure you. There will be many great hours spent with her, and am looking forward to everyone of them. And I’ll be sure to send pics every now and again. And to keep Jim posted of our adventures together.
She will be in good hands.
Thank you Jim for the great opportunity.
Hugs….Michele
…and thank you Michele for the reassurance. I could tell from your voice [as we spoke] that this cycle will be well care for. I certainly appreciate knowing that I can see periodic updates of your experiences with your new bike.
Thanks for continuing to follow my blog and for posting this comment please do so often. If it works for you, my RANS Stratus XP Page is a good place to keep us all informed of your impressions & feelings about your “new” bike.
Thanks! I’m off the The Bicycle Shop at 9:45 tomorrow morning so Woodie can began preparing the SXP to travel to Michigan. I’ll send you an email confirming. Until…
Hugs to you also…
Jim
Michele,
I am sure you will enjoy it, there is nothing quite like the joy of a new bike. I get excited just reading your post. Luckily for me, I have a bike on the way. Otherwise I too might be shopping for a Rans XP as lovingly cared for as Jim’s was.
Best of wishes and Hugs to go,
Duncan
After what seemed like forever, it was only 3 days (my patience gets the best of me sometimes), my new ride arrived safe and sound. She was packed beautifully by Woodie and shipped Fed Ex by dear Jim. Her first adventure in Michigan was a ride in my Mustang convertible which was a site to see as she was still packed up. A good tailwind would have put me air-born. Already an adventure was born. She will be sorely missed by her old roomates, Faye and Silk, and by her trusty companion of the past 4 years, Jim. She will be reassembled tomorrow and have her first ferry ride into a new country. She will be ridden home the last 6 miles where she will share space with my Green Goddess (Rans Tailwind). I look forward to miles of joy and happiness with the sun on my face and the wind on my back. Forever a ‘Bent Angel.
What s nice story [drip, drip, sniff, sniff]. I’m anxious for the reports tomorrow. Enjoy & thanks ‘Bent Angel! –jim
