  1. Jim,

This post may push Bro Zeke over to the dark side of recumbents! Being a Harley guy, he may not be able to resist the idea of a matching trike for his Harley! ;-)

That’s a beautiful trike that Ashley has put together.

  2. I would’ve commented earlier but I’ve been scouring near and far for money to get a Catrike to match my Ultra Classic as Bro Dave suggested. Unfortunately, I think I need a loan – Bro Dave?

The copper and black colors of the anniversary edition were very striking. I almost traded for one. Now, if Ashley just had a paint matched trailer to pull the Expedition behind his Harley, I think he’d be set!

    • Here you are. Thanks! Now we know what your were doing and why. I’ve been searching for a picture of your Harley–no luck. I was thinking it may be copper. From your comment–I guess not. I’ll send Ashley you trailer comment. Take care. –jim

  3. Ha! I understand that logic perfectly. I had a Suzuki 700 Shadow before the first Harley. I purchased a set of Harley Davidson saddle bags to use on the Suzuki. That became my logical explanation of why I needed a Harley. People were laughing at me (or so I said) for having a Suzuki with HD bags.

Here I am with the new “baby”!

It is my 52nd birthday. Gotta love my wife for letting me get it on my B-Day. Of course, she found a whole new range of comfort when we stepped up from the Custom Softail we’d ridden since ’89. She used to tell me that by the time we made it to Myrtle Beach from home, it was like riding on the short side of a 2X4 when we had the stock seat.

    • Thanks Zeke, Now we have the “complete” story. I trust inserting the pic and modifying your text a bit to fit is well with you. Now, I see why I had a image very similar to Ashley’s Harley in my mind. Thanks for sharing. –jim

  4. Hi,

Glad for you to do it. Maybe Ashley will chime in with “I can paint an Expedition in those colors – for free! ” Guess I won’t hold my breath on that one.

We’re getting heavy rain now. Looks to be an evening for staying in by the fire.

    Later,

    Zeke

  5. No, I’m just day dreaming. I don’t have any money for an additional bike of any kind. It just keeps the juices flowing looking at them and talking about them. IF I had some extra money right now, I’d probably lean more toward a Salsa Fargo or Surley Long Haul Trucker. I find the trikes to be a curiousity that I would love to try out some day but I’ve never been on one so the “itch that needs scratching” is all in my head at this moment. I will admit to getting out my atlas today and looking up Payson, UT to see if our return trip from the west coast this spring might be close enough for a “drop in.” Our route is still too unknown to make a statement at this time. Maybe I’ll get to see Fargo “live”. :)

Assuming all goes well and my father-in-law’s health remains good enough for us to travel, we are planning a cross-country excursion to see Bro Dave late May. We’ll be pulling our camper and enjoying the sights on the way out and back. I do hope to get to demo a Salsa Fargo along with B.D. while in the L.A. area.

    • You planned adventures are exciting. I had better have Fargo in my hands by then, It will be nice to pay a visit to Payson or ‘Bent Up Cycles and try a few trikes. They are different. I enjoy the variety of different rides, as does my body,

I hope Kathy’s father will be well and that you are abler to travel, without worrying. The best…

      Jim

  6. As an additional comment…

This potential trip is one reason I was asking you about the Spot. In addition to thinking of wearing one while riding solo at home, I’m thinking it might be good and interesting for family and friends if we get to make this trip.
