Here ya’ go. This should give you some idea what drivers may see as they approach my trailer from the rear or side. I’ll upload individual pictures to flickr. I think the box defined by the 4 points of light will alert most drivers. Tomorrow, the safety triangle will be added, which should increase clarity. You see the stills & this collage. The video below may also help. The flagpoles will be dancing in the night as I ride, as well as carry 2 flags each that will flutter in the dark, reflecting bits & pieces of light. Don’t forget I’ll also have the quad’s lighting.

That will be an interesting experience for a driver coming upon you! The dancing lights at the top look, in this video, to be separate entities from the lower lights. I don’t know how much actual night riding you’ll be doing but I think you’ll be well covered lightwise. I’m looking forward to seeing how much more reflection you get with the SMV sign.
BTW, we had an inch of snow this morning when we got up. I think it had just started. We’re going through bands of lighter and heavier snow now. The roads were just beginning to get covrered on our way to work.
Spring – where art thou?

Hi Zeke,
On my own, I’ll do enough night riding to appreciate the lighting. I want to do a test round trip to Richmond, Virginia. In the past, I began 3 days at 3:00 a.m. and 1 [departure from Richmond] at 1:00 a.m. I hope we do some for the fun that night riding gives. I’ll certainly ask.
I changed the SMV sign to a yellow safety [share the road] triangle. It is smaller than the SMV and will better match the trailer. It is still plenty large enough.
I noticed you are with snow. We even have a bit in our forecast after 9:00 p.m. Spring will be upon us in 2 weeks. I hope it is warmer than last year. May your snow melt soon.
Take care…
Jim
I think the “powers that be” reversed the intent of your wishes that my snow might melt soon. It has really picked up in intensity in the last 30 minutes. The roads are now covered in town. If I can get Kathy to agree, I’ll probably be heading to the house soon. I can work just as easily from there as from my office. I would say we’re approaching 2.5″ at this point.
(Kathy just called as I was typing. Her office is closing so I”m outta here…)

The power of the keyboard at work. CONGRATS and enjoy working from home. Rain has not yet begun here. Picture taking today will be a lot colder than it was yesterday. Hey, it is time for another Great Smokies 2-Wheeled Adventure! –jim
Yep, I’ve got one stirring on the inside as I watch it snow.
The radar indicates that most of the moisture has moved on east of us now so we’ll probably begin to see the snow let up.

Then I’ll be waiting on the story. No pictures today–wrong safety triangle. I’ll post an article soon. We have steady rain–not heavy at all. –jim
