Eureka! ~ Ride for the Republic Camping Gear ~ This tent is for me! Reply
The Eureka Apex 2XT Adventure Tent [below] is the tent for me for this type tour. It is smaller that the tent I used on RAGBRAI [left], but comfortably larger than The Topeak Bikamper EXP I purchased a few days ago. Nothing against the Bikamper—just too small for me.
You have seen the Eureka Apex Tent without the fly. Here are some pictures with the fly in place.
In my next photo session, I will work on interior shots. It is sold as a 2-person. You had better be friends.

Ride for the Republic Camping Gear ~ Eureka! 2
I’ve discovered the best tent for me for this tour—relatively small, yet I can move about and dress therein. It is not too heavy @ 5lbs 12ozs. It is the Eureka Apex 2XT Adventure 7′ 5″ by 4′ 11″ Two-Person Tent. Here are a few pictures of the tent, without the fly [and w/fly].

Ride for the Republic Camping Gear ~ Oops! 2
What looked like a nice compact and light tent is just too compact for me. Maybe it could have worked. I felt too confined and want to ensure I’m able to sleep after a day of riding. So, back this one goes to Amazon.com. Another tent [Eureka Apex 2XT Adventure 7' 5" by 4' 11" Two-Person Tent] arrives tomorrow, 03/31.
