Several days ago, I asked a flickr friend if he would do artwork for me for my Fargo project. Today I received his reply ~ YES!

Hi El Cargonista [Dylan],

I’m jalexartis [Jim Artis] from Flickr. I’m interested in having you do some artwork for me if you are available. I will be building up a quadracycle in April. It is now in the design phase for customization. I will use it to tour with a friend from Maine to Florida during the summer. It will likely be used on long tours the following summers.

The quad is named Fargo. It reminds me of a stagecoach in some ways—thus the name Fargo from Wells Fargo & Company. Since it is a touring cycle I also see the name describing an HPV that is used to Go Far. I’m currently running a poll to select the preferred font for Fargo. Currently, the ******* font has the lead. The quad will be black. The poll ends the end of January.

I’d like to have the following elements included in the graphic which I want to have an old west flavor:

1) A banner [depicting roads to travel] incorporating the items below:

2) The name Fargo.

3) A drawing similar to this to illustrate the roots of name and the shape association [at least in my mind].

The stage coach & horses could be a silhouette. At this point, I’m not sure if a color or monochrome drawing will make the best presentation. This drawing is from Wells Fargo Site and is likely a TM and not available to be copied. The background does not matter.

4) Built by Utah Trikes and the year 2010.

5) Your ideas.

This graphic is to go on the back of the quad on the face of the boot on the two rear quarter panels, just above the wheels. [which is a Stanley toolbox]

The dimensions of the box are: Height 11", Length 28", Width 12", & Color black

I’ll have your artwork [if you can do this for me] transferred to vinyl for placement on the boot two rear quarter panels. I expect it will have some reflective quality. As to whether color or B&W, I may want to have prints, t-shirts, etc. made to raise money for charities at some point in the future. I have decided on color for the artwork.
