Yes, even on a cycle.
This may be more than some want as they tour about the country or the world, and that is fine. Perhaps for them, peace of mind is being away from gadgets and being one with their surroundings. Again, that is fine. Then there are others who like information and destination related metrics. For me, I am one with my surroundings, yet I can glance at a display screen and read information about my location, key features near me, as well as route and destination information. That in itself can be comforting. I consider myself an excellent navigator. This just make it easier. YMMV. –jim
