This week I’m hoping to post some 3-dimensional modeling of the quadricycle I have in mind. Both from Captain Creeg [BROL Member] and from Ashley Guy [Utah Trikes & BROL Member]. Captain Creeg has taken some of my ideas and given them form. I’ll use his drawings to more easily covey some of my design concepts to Ashley. I think you will be amazed and excited by the results. I am…

I am amazed at how close Captain Creeg’s drawing is to the actual box. Thanks you sir! The "trunk" is water resistant and will serve me well for some of my storage needs. I have a few more unique ideas in mind. |

Hi Jim – excited and amazed I am.
*the rods forming a cage for cover and panels – simple and elegant – that works.
*the panels – well I’m once bitten twice shy, they will work. good luck. I’m watching with interest.
*the box – yes, I dislike panniers (use boxes inside waterproof bags (sort of)). AND a benefit of the QUAD not the trike in that there is a frame platform to hold it.
*the undercarriage pan is excellent – I’ll get one.
***** THE DRAWINGS ARE EXCEPTIONAL *****
Yes, they are and only to get better with Ashley’s work. The floor plate will be higher and the roof panel [sleeve] to support the top solar panel is missing. We are getting there. A bit more to do. Thanks! –jim
Playing devil’s advocate here…
What is the weight of the box?
David, the specs do not have a weigh and I did not see one at Stanley’s web site. I held it in my hand. I does not feel heavy to me [I think under 5 lbs]. I think less than panniers & rack I use on my RANS Stratus XP. The box give me rigid sides and rain protection beyond what I think I’d get with panniers. Plus, the 2 box I’m using with my mobile/SCEPTER setup says box for me.
When I have the weight of the box, I’ll let you know. [Maybe I need to take my scale to the store or buy early and weigh.] I like the price of the box and it gives me the look I am trying to achieve.
Thanks!
Jim
Does anyone else think “coffin” on first sight of that box? If the tool fits the job use it but be aware of the creepy factor.
Only in the eyes of the beholder. The tool fits my task. At 28″ wide I do not see the morbid image you are portraying. Thanks anyway…
Jim
I’ve looked at this very box before at Lowe’s and nearly bought it a couple of times for my trailer. I like the looks of it as depicted in the drawing. You could always claim the yellow band as a LiveStrong symbol although I doubt you’ll get any Team Radioshack sponsorship…

I like that! LiveSTRONG! I almost picked it up when I saw it, but it would be money on the shelf. David wants to know it weight. I’ll have to weigh it. Yeah, the drawing is cool. See other perspectives in my BROL thread. Thanks! –jim
