Now to work on live streaming…
I’m watching the video. 84/100. as good as I need.
But then there is you. Will it end up as a hollywood cameras “steady-cam” at 50 frames per second magically compressed for WiFi and in your helmet mirror?
BTW, like your helmet.
This day is so full of Quadding, I may turn you all off. I have to get in touch with Ashley about my 6 GI drive.
Yeah, get the gear-inch information. The vids will be here later. –jim
Looks good! I thought the video quality was quite smooth during your ride. The audio was also quite sensitive. I could hear the wheels turning on your bike when you entered the house.
BTW, I hope Silk isn’t missing any love! She hasn’t been mentioned in awhile…

For everything, there is a season…
It’s just easier to roll the CF out. I’ll be getting another RAM mount and external mic to better control the wind noise. I discover Qik today. Well I knew of them, but their live streaming app became available after USTREAM. I think I like Qik better. I’ll use both to have a backup. I think my tour and subsequent blogcasting will indeed be interesting.
Thanks for watching. I’ll have links up in a bit for all the vids.
Jim
I must have missed a post along the way. I’ve been noting references to a tour. Have you posted details already and I slept through them? BTW, note the snazzy new Gravatar. Thanks for the instructions. I had started to ask you several times how to do it so I’m glad you took the lead and gave me the push!
- Zeke
I began the reply earlier and lost it–sorry! Yes, I like your Gravatar [now you show on all your comments--wait long enough and the computer may work--this one did not have you pic when I did the last comment].
The Tour: I have not given a lot of detail, but mentioned it in a few post. That is what the quad is all about. I was grabbing links here and lost my reply. Now I have it all.
Which Delta for You?
…or would a Utah Trike Quad work better?
A quad it may be…
Of the 3 above, I guess the question posed in the first one says the most. I also have a comment for David that I answered with some more detail. Yes, see the second article and the 4 comments. Your brother has the scoop.
THE END
Sorry about the delay and piecemeal response.
Jim
What’s the range on your WiFI router?
It appears about a block & a half based on riding and then loosing the signal. Of course, henceforth I’ll only use #G. The router then services SCEPTER. From the manual, it is suppose to be 600 meters. I’m happy. –jim
I saw the video of you riding today. Was that live? The quality was amazing considering how it was getting from you to me. I agree with my better looking brother that the audio was quite good. I could really hear the treads of your tires speeding up on the asphalt as you sped up. That was more impressive to me than the video. Plus there wasn’t a lot of wind noise. The video I saw had some “wavy” qualities to it. It looks like it is the way the compressor is dealing with the panning motion of the camera. It was kind of cool.
Hi David,
First you need a pic to fit in with those above. Your brother has all the details.
Now, from a TV man, thank you for your comments. Yes., the video was a live feed to the Internet. What you see now is an upload of what was recorded on the phones as the video was being streamed. The mic is the iPhone’s internal. I plan to use an external to “i hope have no wind noise and better sound. For now, I’m pleased. I love the sound of the tires on the pavement. You cannot hear any gear changing on my single speed. I’ve got to clean a wheel to get rid of the brake squealing.
I’m going to try again tomorrow, but with a more stable temporary camera mount. I appreciate you comments. I trust you are feeling better. Take care. –jim
Amazing! I post my comment and you appear. It’s like MAGIC! Thanks!
a test of showing a tytike picture.
This message is me logged in as “tytrike”-my picture should show.
If the login is “Terry Stankunas” with a different e-mail, no picture.
Otherwise Karen will fix it later.
Yes…
Picture shows – tytrike is a working login, Terry Stankunas is not.
Think I sent the no-picture from an unrefreshed browser page that was using Terry Stankunas.
…and yes…
BTW, are you a crusty seaman???
Jim,
I got an email from Zeke with the link to Gravatar.com after I posted my comment. I find it interesting to see that Gravatar is “retroactive”!
I am feeling better thanks. About what time tomorrow EDT do you think you’ll do the test?
David,
Yeah, that’s cool. You replaced one file with another, thus the “retroactive” image [like our Avatar on BROL].
I’ll try for 11:00 EST if I can rid a steady camera mount. I’m working with my tripod head. I’ll put up an announcement giving the time. I plan to use SCEPTER and the iPhone. So, 3 camera total. The WebCam Page & the QiK live stream page.
Jim
tytrikes says:
Thanks Terry. A reshoot goes at 1:00 p.m. EST. I thought I had the orientation the same as yesterday. Oh well, that’s what practice is about. –jim
tytrike says:
You get more at 1:00 p.m. Thanks for the feedback. When I cam in I wondered how many reoriented their screen. Going to work on my temp camera setup. –jim
BTW, you can watch me with the WebCam(s).
tytrike says:
I did ring my bike bell. A big & loud one from my LBS. My Mirrycle Incredibell was not loud and resonate enough for me. I’ll see if I can get a name for you. –jim
Caught most of your workout. I got out of breath just watching you. I did some test live chats that showed up as well. Everthing looked and sounded good on this end. Just fix that camera mount and you are ready to go!
Thanks David. I appreciate the feedback. I had a good session at 11:00 a.m., but had the camera oriented incorrectly. Another RAM mount to be ordered soon. –jim
tytrike says:
Thanks for the details. –jim
