Yesterday, I finally received the HP W7 update for the laptop I purchased in August. Given SCEPTER WebCam matters, I did not touch it. Maybe today… Anyway, it is in the house [literally]. –jim

If you haven’t tried it yet, you’ll like W7. I’ve been dual-booting W7 RC edition for 6 months and pre-ordered a full edition in July. Since I didn’t get the upgrade direct from HP, I just dual-boot the full 7.
I advise to call HP support and have them help you download the updated drivers before installation-from my experience, it can’t hurt.

This is W7 on my third computer, thus the “X 3″ [I posted 2 other articles on my first 2 installs]. I have not explored all of Windows 7′s features because of my intense work on my WebCam project. I’m a computer tech, so my desire is to have a base of knowledge to resolve problems for others. Ultimately, I’ll run W7 on 4 computers on my network. To this point, I have not had any problems. Thanks for the advice regarding HP drivers. –jim
