iPhone meets SCEPTER ~ 11/16

I took this series of photographs to show one function of the OWLE Bubo—lens holder. It adds versatility to the phone—oh, it is a phone. As a reminder, I received a call during the photo shoot. I did not answer. It was a 888 caller anyway.
The reason for these pictures is that I replaced my initial Creative Labs Live! Cam Optia AF WebCam with a Logitech Webcam Pro 9000. It has superior resolution and frame rate. In addition, I can zoom, and have other nice to have features. What to do with the original WebCam—use it to take vids of the AutoMate [the robot] at work. I have a 29-minute video on Livestream that shows the movement of the AutoMate Robot as taken by the little Creative WebCam. Actually, they can take vids of each other—cute.
This preparation is to give me the capability to live blogcast cycling events such as the Trifecta of World Records in Maria Parker’s 12 hour ride. Next week, I hope to integrate my Tablet PC for WiFi connection with SCEPTEER. The TPC will run both boom WebCams.
Two new features:
- A higher resolution & frame rate camera [I'll show it again later. I got some reasonable goo "in the dark" video last night.]
- A WebCam watching a WebCam [the original SCEPTER cam is now installed so I can get shots of the robot's motion and verify it is responding to the iPaq commands.
I'll run this an hour or so [see it here], then switch to the new Logitech WebCam Pro9000.
Thanks!
Jim

Morning!
I’ve been so busy the last couple of days I haven’t been able to post any comments although I have been checking in each day. Looks like you are doing some good fine tuning of the project. I once connected two webcams by having them shoot each other. It was a similar experience to sitting in the barber’s chair with mirrors in front and back of me. The reflected images created a tunnel. The webcam’s were a very similar experience. I almost thought I had created a tunnel through time!
I posted some pics of the Toy Run Saturday. There was an interesting bicycle there. It looked to be crankforward with high rise handlebars. I was going to try and ride it but the owner took off before I could get permission. I posted the pic on my blog.
Keep up the fine tuning!

Hi Zeke,
Thanks for checking. You know I always enjoy your comments. So, I miss them, but understand there are other things to be done. I really look forward to the separate PC and its control of the SCEPTER WebCams. Livestream Studio is a resource hog and slows my laptop considerably. Plus log USB cables are not friendly to video. I’ve had crash after crash the seem to be Adobe Flash. In the end, I think it is cables and learning I cannot just unplug the camera and not have Studio crash on reload. Anyway…
Yes, I am fine tuning–the benefit of testing.
I’m enjoying your pictures. It looks like a wonderful time was had by all. Community activity is always good. Haywood County seems to be the place. I’ll bet the food was good. Did you use your Tanita after returning home?
That is reeeally a Crank Forward. I looks like it is from back in the day.
Hoping to hear from you again real soon…
Jim
