In addition to lap metrics, I’ll post pictures & videos to my flickr photostream. To the degree I can, I’ll post articles about the event. Check this site for the most current info on Maria’s ride.

Added average speed to spreadsheet in mph & km/h, as well as a column for lap distance in kilometers–make the formulas easier for a one-time spreadsheet. Thanks to Nanc of BROL for the idea.–jim

Jim,
Thanks so much for doing this. I am living vicariously through you tomorrow.
GO Maria Go!
You are welcome Lief. I look forward to interaction with those cheering Maria on tomorrow. It will be fun! –jim
Great early photo, Jim. I’m biting the mouse waiting for your next lap update!
Hi John, I know you are still with us. I here that John has call and is coaching [based on data he is seeing]. Thanks for using my blog. It’s a challenge to capture & post and be ready fro the next pass. GLAD you are here. –jim
Jim,
if the second lap clock time is 08.22, wouldn’t that be a 57 minute lap? Or is there a rounding error?
John
Hi John, I’ll have to review later. I rounded to the nearest 100th. I think the unofficial metrics are very close to the official. Let me know if you stille see a problem. –jim
Thanks for doing all this Jim, I’ll be checking in all day.
Go Maria!
Delighted you are here Marc. –jim
Jim, I have to tell you how much I appreciate all the stuff you do for us recumbent/ trike people. You truly are an asset for us. I can only imagine the effort that you and ever person connected to you puts in to get this together. Thanks to all Mike Hinnen from Kansas
Hi Mike,
It is good to hear from you. You are welcome. Glad to have you as a viewer. –jim
I up am following Maria’s effort on the Left Coast. Thanks Jim! And go, go, go Maria!
Good to hear from you David [from the left coast]. Stay tuned…
I’m still on my first cup of coffee. That should have read, “I am up and following…
I’m still delighted!!!
Go Maria Go!
21+ mph avg over 4 hours! Awesome
Keep it up.
Awesome, indeed!!!
That’s a sub-5 hour century. Awesome Maria! Now she just has to do it again plus some….Go Maria!!!
She is looking good and riding so smooth…
Excellent photo, Jim. I’m enjoying the pics of the yellow bike because yellow shows more of the frame shape and form. Nice work.
More yellow bike pictures are up. Thanks for your comments. –jim
Amazing Maria!!! Sending thoughts of encouragement from Vermont. Lauris says to stay hydrated & keep eating. If you start to cramp, eat a couple of Tums. Don’t Bonk!!!
Jim,
Thanks for keeping us up to date. Hope the weather doesn’t get to rough.
Thank you Pat!
I think we will make it weather wise. We had a shower, followed by drizzles. It is now cooler. I posted a weather update–now 50% chance of rain. Three laps and a bit to go. –jim
she’ll be comin roun the mowtin …
she’ll be ridin her yellow cruzbike …
Good for her, thanks Jim
Hi Terry, I think the real exciting part is yet to come. –jim
As I write this, it is 5:35 PM EST, and by now, Maria has surely ridden over 220 miles which is what she projected for her record attempt. If I’m correct, she has 1 more lap to go which is going to place her VERY CLOSE to the MEN’S 12 hour recumbent record! Amazing! GO MARIA!!!!
Hi Edward,
She is now on Lap #12, and if on pace, will have 4 minutes to cover another mile or so. A TERRIFIC ride she has had. I’ll upload a hill series in just a few minutes. She may face that hill one more time. GO MARIA!!!
Jim
Hi Jim,
I bet it’s been an exciting day for all of you! If Maria does keep the pace, she may very well go beyond 240 miles!
If you can, please try to take pictures of the moment when she gets off her Silvio. Perfect moment to play that music piece from the “Rocky” movies! I know I’m being corny:)
Thanks again for your dedication to this event!
GO MARIA!!!!
Edward
