Okay, yesterday we learned of the damage to my Goblin Cricket tail fairing [now including pictures]. Well, since I have the fairing, I thought I should try it on for fit. I did and it does not. It does not fit my Catrike 700 with Kojak Tires and the Garrie Hill Carbon Fiber Wheel Covers. BTW, CT700s now ships with Kojaks.
I asked on 07/30 about the Kojak, but did not receive an answer.
Thank you Jeff.
I look forward to receiving and riding with it.
How long before I should receive it?
I also wish it had not taken this long.
I appreciate that if will fit well and that the painting is resolved.
I trust I will not have problems fitting the fairing over my Kojak 1.25" tire.
Jim
Honestly, I do not understand why many of my questions to the Goblin Motors Proprietor would go unanswered. I’d sometimes ask again or have even called to get answers. Sometimes, I’d just let it go, not wanting to be a pest.
Anyway, the silver lining: Since it does not fit [the wheel does not turn]—the opening at the bottom is not wide enough for the wheel, plus it was difficult to get the derailleur through. In addition, the tire touches the fairing at the top, unless I shim it on the seat cross bar. An alternative is to widen the tire opening. Given these necessary adjustments, any repainting will not have to be altered by trimming. I’m also able to validate other setup plans. I’ll take a few pictures an use those for study while the repair is completed.
It still make more sense to be to have the repair done locally [probably for the shipping cost]. I’m waiting on an email reply to that question.
I think this is about it for now. I have several early morning appointments and will not start working on this issue until around noon. Your comments are welcomed and appreciated.
Thanks!
