It looks like you had a great day of riding. Now we see the mountain for which Lizard Head Pass received its name.
We are expecting that Mr. Giraldo will get to Montrose, Colorado tomorrow, Day39. After Montrose on his journey to Pueblo, Colorado, where might he spend his nights? Of course, we do not know. OTOH, we have the location that the "Pathfinders," also following the Adventure Cycling Association Maps, then there is the weather and other unforeseen events. Maybe it is interesting, or even fun, to speculate. Here’s a map from Montrose to Pueblo, with some possibilities marked. Let’s see how this plays out.

At 11:19 a.m. MDT Mr. Giraldo began a rain delayed start on his trek to Lizard Head Pass and points beyond, with the hope of arriving in Montrose later today.

Given, Mr. Giraldo’s return to Rico due a thunder-storm, he plans to give Montrose a go today. It is almost 82 miles from Rico, but downhill after crossing the Dallas Divide. Of course, he still has the 12-mile climb from Rico to Lizard Head Pass, followed by brief downhills from mile 12 to mile 33. This actually became the Day39 Ride.
