ome may have read the commentary on current content of this blog and may agree or disagree. As I’ve said in my response to comments, I see a responsibility and obligation as a writer and publisher to my readership and to myself. Foremost, I want to help others.
Yesterday was such an instance as it relates to Mr. Giraldo on the tire problem he had crossing a Utah desert. I know from past experience that I get responses for others based on blog content. That happened here, but a day later. One of our triking colleagues posted an answer that I think will be useful to Mr. G.
My BROL post:
On the tire problem…
This from a respected expert [Bruce ~ a.k.a. trikebldr] in the triking world.Quote:
Jim-
Been following your posts about the guy riding cross country. Good reporting! I was looking at that picture he took of his tire. It struck me as weird that it is gone so soon in his journey, especially considering that Lucinda ran the same tires with absolutely no trouble. I can see why he has trouble! He is seriously toed in too much. I can see a feather edge along the inside edge of the inside “grooves”. This says that the tire is scrubbing in a toe-in condition. If you have contact with this guy, tell him this will happen again just as soon. Have him get the toe reset.
Keep the reports coming! Thanks for doing this for all of us!
Bruce
(trikebldr)I’ll post this note on Rafael’s Forum as well as my blog. Thanks to all in your response to Mr. G’s tire dilemma. We do not know if he made any toe adjustment today. Anyway, he has expert input and can hopefully get many more miles out of the next set of tires.
Thanks Bruce.
BTW, Bruce picked up the problem from my blog. It is serving its purpose! For that I am thankful.__________________
Agree or disagree, I am please to be able to pass on information that may help any cyclist [or person for that matter]. Not only did I command in the U.S. Army, I also served as an Inspector General. I’m about helping people. That is who I am.
Now, If only my Catrike 700 tail fairing, ordered May 25th would come, I can write and publish about it. I’m riding my DF, but who wants to know about that.
Jim, you wrote an excellent, heartfelt response to your reader. i hope s/he responds by continuing to subscribe. i’m also an RSS reader, btw.
Thanks MJ,
I wish I knew the reader. I think those who know me understand what I’m trying to do. I do try to be responsible and not willy-nilly in my use of the Internet. I hope the person stays. It is their call. My readership is very high now. I’m getting about 20 per day [155 since Mr. G put up the link a few days ago] from his site who want to know what’s happening to him. He can only post infrequently. For some, I am their news source. OTOH, I’m a cyclist, who loves my cycles [one can tell I think] and enjoys publishing about them. Thanks for your continued support and comments. –jim
