RAAM ’09 Leaderboard Reply
This marks RAAM #3 for me. I find it the most exciting bicycle race I’ve watched [although from home, with the Internet as my portal]. The Race Leaderboard [screen capture below], as they call it, is really a dynamic data rendering app, that easily facilitates race updates. It and the BROL Forums makes for an enjoyable experience—Bookmark the page!
When is the 17th the 17th? 1

Download the software update. Only $9.95.
Apparently, not yet. My first anticipation was midnight local [EDT], then midnight PDT, now I wonder. My iTunes application says I have the latest version at 2.2.1 and the Apple Store only says the update is available on the 06/17. Stay tuned…
Mr. Giraldo arrives at Middlegate 2
A
lthough there is no apparent structure where he stopped [from Google Earth & Google Maps], Mr. Giraldo’s eastward movement stopped at 8:52 p.m. PDT at Middlegate, Nevada.
The presumption now is that he well ride to Austin, Nevada today, likely using the new Hwy 50, the route [with less climbing] to the north. This is the route that passed through Cold Springs. His riding distance today is approximately 63.2 miles [or might he stay in Cold Springs—13.8 miles from Middlegate]. Given that, I expect an earlier start than his 12:24 p.m. PDT start yesterday.
Have a GREAT riding day Mr. Giraldo!
