You may know that Jeff Bales [BROL Member Goblin] , Owner of Goblin Motors, has created a tail fairing for the Catrike 700 recumbent trike [known as the Goblincricket] and is now designing a front fairing for the CT700. I have several blog post since January relating thereto. I also plan to purchase both for my CT700 ["Silk"]. I’m sure many others will be doing the same over the next several months.
Yesterday, it occurred to me that it would be good if those who buy one or more of Jeff’s fairings could learn of other owners and have some means of communicating and sharing experiences with them. I communicated the idea to Jeff. He has plans to facilitate communications between owners later. For now, I’ve setup a data storage that will allow us to know who the other owners are and communicate if desired.
Here is what we do:
- To enter your information you select the “Goblin Motors Fairing Data” Page [accessible here; on my Cycles Page [The Magnificent 7]; my Catrike 700 Page; or at the top of my Notes Page]. There, you select this link “Please complete the 15 data fields in this form” to enter the requested data elements for each fairing you own:
- OwnerName* [Name others should use to respond to you] [mandatory]
- TrikeName [If there is one]
- Country* [USA or other]
- State [if country is USAState [if country is USA]
- Fairing* [What did you buy?]
- Version* [race or storage]
- Color* [Goblin 6 or other]
- ImageURL [to picture of your fairing setup]
- PlaceOfPurchace*[Where did you buy your fairing?]
- DateOfPurchase*
- Comments [you want to make]
- URL [blog or website
- email [if desired]
- SoldTo [Who did you sell your fairing to?]
- DateOfSale
- To view data that has been entered, select this link “View the data that has been entered” from the “Goblin Motors Fairing Data” Page. GoogleDocs allows you to edit what you have entered. I currently have a dummy record for me to aid in setting up this process. I’ll remove it as I enter real data. I’ll also create a gallery from your image links for others to view our setups. View the data summary page here.
I welcome your comments and suggestions and look forward to communicating with you. Leaving comments to this post is a sure way of contacting me. As time goes along, there will likely be some modifications to this process. I’m hoping that Jeff will encourage buyers to enter their information here.
Thanks to all. I look forward to seeing data element begin to fill and then the use of this resource by you.
THANKS!
Jim Artis
