The George Street Bike Challenge

with 2 comments

Can you do this?

Uphill time trial, Sunday, July 26, 2009. See how fast you can pedal up this two-block quad-buster in downtown Worcester, Massachusetts, that was a training ground for 1899 world champion, Major Taylor. You probably recall my late December ’08 post on him.

  1. So, will we see you and Silk pushing the envelope this year? I think that would answer ALL of my questions about how a recumbent climbs! :)

    • Zeke,

LOL ~ ROTF ~ You are funny!!! If I were to make the challenge, it would likely be on my DF as I rode a 20% grade with it before. A trike is too easy and too heavy. To be sporting, I’d have to do it on my VK2, the lightest of my steads. Boy, that would take some grinding, but would be interesting. BTW, ‘bents can climb rather well, when the engine is up to it. –jim
