The Silver Comet Trail [above] is located 13 miles northwest of Atlanta, Georgia. It’s free of charge, and travels west through Cobb, Paulding, and Polk counties. This quiet, non-motorized trail is for walkers, hikers, bicyclists, rollerbladers, horses, dog walkers, and is wheelchair accessible.
The Chief Ladiga Trail [below ~ loads a PDF ~ slow] is Alabama’s premier rail-trail. It is located in Cleburne and Calhoun counties, in east-central Alabama. The smooth asphalt surface travels through the Tallegeda National Forest, and connects to Georgia’s Silver Comet Trail to the east (near Cedartown and Esom Hill).
