Holiday Shipments Reply

If not for the holidays, I’d have 6 additional items by now:

  1. Arkel Tail Rider
  2. Fastback Systems Fastback 4.0
  3. Fastback Systems Flash Frame Pack
  4. Fastback Systems NorBack Frame Pack
  5. Mirrycle Incredibell XL
  6. On-The-Go-Speaker

They sit at my local UPS office and are scheduled for delivery 10/02/08. I wanted to go pick them up, but could not confirm the office was open. I decided to wait until Wednesday for home delivery.

I called Rush Gideon to check on the On-The-Go Speaker status, since I had not received the shippment e-mail. In conversation, I learned the speaker is water bottle size 3″ x 9.5″. The picture does not convey that to me. Given its size, I’ll likely place it on the boom just in front of the seat in the water bottle cage. I’d had also hoped to place the AirZound Horn in the same area. I’ve prepared the horn for installation.

Upcoming C4 Ride~ New Years Day Ride Reply

Copied from the Cross Creek Cycling Club Website:

“Welcome in the New Year with a ride. This will be a social-paced ride of about 55 miles. The link to the ride map on MotionBased is here. Ride will start at 9:00 am from T&H (Carolina Rim & Wheel on Dunn Road) the normal Saturday ride start location. There is one stop planned at about the half-way point (the Hardees Gas Station exit 72 in Dunn). So far the weather is looking good but check back as we get closer for updates. Remember this is a social-paced ride so let the “A” legs take a break.”

What sits on top of the rack? — The Topeak M2 DeFender. Reply

In my 12/22 post I said:

“I have seen several pictures of this bag in recumbent articles written by Larry Varney of BROL. This bag should fit nicely on the Tubus Fly Rear Rack…”

Well, after receiving rack, placing my panniers [pictured below in my 12/27 post] on it, and finding the best fit for the Topeak M2 DeFender, I determined the Arkel Trail Ride Bag is not needed for this setup. I’ll now have to determine how I can best use this bag; or, perhaps, I’ll sell it. I have integrated my DiNotte Taillights and will likely use my self-designed lightbar for the On-The-Go Speaker. With this setup, the DiNotte battery is placed within one of the panniers. The pictures below show the setup without the speaker installed.

This Air Zound Horn is different. It does not have a handlebar clamp. It also has a very short hose. So, adapting it to the trike will be a challenge. The included air pump is a high-pressure hand pump. Even, if I do not use it for tires, I can always be used to fill the horn air bottle.

There are no surprises with the pedals. They look sharp.

My initial impression is that the fender should fit. Then, the question will be, how does it look in conjunction with the Greenspeed fenders? The major portion of the fender will be concealed by the bag and panniers. I expect to cut 2 slots for the rack frame to fit. For precise fit, I’ll have to wait for the trike.
