Well, I think I may have luckily dodged flatting. On removing the tire & tube, I saw similar depression of the Velocity Plugs. If the tube had undue force on one of the uncovered spoke openings, I’m sure I would have flatted. Again, I’m not faulting the plug, but me for using the plug in a slightly larger opening than intended.

At this point, I van ride without internal flatting or blowout. Now just look out for external punctures.
