I was able to get in the second ride today.
This ride was in an effort to see how fast I could ride the loop where I last rode at 17.99 mph–I did!
Here is the graphic for this ride:

I averaged 19.1 mph on this ride. Perhaps I can get the average up to 19.5–let’s see what next summer brings. I’ll set a goal to ride this loop at a speed of at least 20 mph [the 19.1 avg. mph was difficult].
In retrospect 19.1 is my best average for the year over an extended distance. I have on ride of 1.16 miles where I averaged 19.5 mph. That was probably a GPS glitch of some type. I have 4 DF rides from home to the Cross Creek Cycling Club Saturday Start point where I averaged 18.9; 18.5; 18.2; and 18.0 mph respectively. What does this mean?
- The 19.1 mph avg over 14.87 miles is good–better than all other rides this year; and,
- I accomplished this feat on my lowracer–the Velokraft VK2. Reviewing the ride, I see places where I can go faster, particularly with summer riding attire.
I am fortunate to have documented data that allows my analysis of my rides. Here is a link to my digest. THANKS Motion Based and Garmin for the Edge 305.
The VK2 is one fast bike!
