I recently purchased the Garmin Edge 305 for my recumbent, Velokraft VK2. This GPS can be used on up to 3 bikes [which I happen to have]. It is a cool device. Here are a few pictures of it mounted on my principal road bike, my Trek Project One.
So, what do I do with this Garmin Edge 305?
One thing I do is upload the ride [in this case, the Cross Creek Cycling Club (C4) 4/8/2006 Club Ride] to the MotionBased web site where I’m able to see detailed ride information:
Now for the cool, see the ride using Google Earth. Of course, you’ll have to have Google Earth Installed on your Computer [download]. The basic Google Earth is free!
You may have to download and install Microsoft DirectX, also free.
After installing, select the “Open this Placemark Icon” within my Google Community post, and then the play button [to the left] to play the tour.
Enjoy!
